Carole knew that Marseille was a nice town, but she did not know that the city was more that pleasant ... Fashionable, artistic, sunny: early October she lived a "city break" perfect. Mail she told us why this port city in the south of France has a very high rate of "MMMMM".
My postcard will be composed of M ...!
Marseille houses: this is where I spent the weekend in the heart of the city, in the suite cozy & chic luxury. I loved the vintage decor and comfort of these apartments but also the advice of Axelle. I recommend the garden rooms, a little more calm.
Music: I Was share of it! The very select club of Marseille Swimmers we are not fit like that! But thanks to the combination Pleasure Collective such place opens to the public on an evening. And what a night! Beautiful sunset, great music, great atmosphere. The next time you're in Marseille look good on facebook if Pleasure Collective @ organizing such an evening. (Free, you pay only the drinks and tapas)
Mama: The family cuisine that I found in the very popular and friendly restaurant La Cantinetta. Italian cuisine, it feels like home, and very good in the very secret garden backyard. The service is fast and the food excellent. 24, Cours Julien, Marseille 6th: +33 4 91 48 10 48 (absolutely book they have 2 services)
Made in Marseille: Kulte, this young brand from Marseille seduced me with its retro-chic 50-60 years and a bit quirky. Behind Kulte lovers of fashion, music and graphic art. Kulte and it is also a new barista Cafés Debout (46 Rue Francis Davso, 13001 Marseille) and a restaurant on the Docks headed one of the finalists of the show Top Chef. 10 Place de la Joliette, 13002 Marseille, +33 9 67 19 28 12. Besides Mama Shelter loves Kulte & Vise Versa and created numerous events for its hotels including Marseille but also bags.
Major: modern halls, tapas stands, a beautiful terrace, the place to be newly opened all for all gourmets and gourmands. A neighborhood in full development.
MuCEM: The Museum of Civilization in Europe and the Mediterranean. A fantastic architectural project! A true wonder, for me the most beautiful museum-building far as I could see in the world. A museum that is suitable for the staging and photography. Top superb terrace with a brewery, a chic bistro and cooking school The Mole - And to better explore the city, consider buying the Marseille City Pass!
Madelijn Vervoord: it is the name of the Dutch director of the brand new Intercontinental Marseille, former Hôtel Dieu converted into a luxury hotel. The place is unique and beautiful! And I really recommend taking a tea or drink on the terrace with panoramic views over the Old Port and the Notre-Dame de la Garde.
Manolo: My heart stroke address in the old quarter of the Basket. Superb tapas homemade, very good products and very nice patterns (https://www.facebook.com/barmanolomarseille). Just in front of the mansion Au Vieux Panier, where you sleep in a work of art.
Mediterranean blue, warm colors, a mix of cultures and scents, the sea, beaches and fabulous creeks of Marseille at hand. And everything is within cycling through Bike City.
Modern, beautiful, magical, moving, a postcard is not enough to tell you everything!
